Abstract

The authors suggest a mechanism of nano-clusters formation in the volume of microcracks on a surface layer of metal under conditions of the cavitation regime of acoustocapillary effect. The basis of the mechanism is the concept of electronic exchange between nano-particles by means of dissipative tunneling with subsequent dipoles formation. It is shown that the effective Young's modulus of a nanostructured part of the surface layer is determined by the ratio between the rate of tunneling transitions and the frequency of ultrasonic waves.
